Oakley understood from a very young age that the society in which she lived would never accept her, because she was not normal. She saw an opportunity to earn a living working in the circus, there she did not have to pretend to be someone she was not, she did not have to hide their abilities.
However, the circus was not what she expected, they even treated her worse than at her house. Still, she decided to stick it out when she met someone like her at the circus and she felt that she was no longer alone, and that perhaps, there were more peculiar beings like the two of them out there. Rocco was like a big brother to Oakley, so she asked him to run away from the circus together.
Now, they are both looking for a better home, and they may not be family by blood, but by heart.
